About this time last year, I advertised for a housekeeper. I was working more hours than I had anticipated, had all the children’s birthdays to sort and Christmas was looming. There weren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done that I wanted done. I needed help.
However, I could find a housekeeper! I got responses from cleaners, nannies, carers and even a meals on wheels service but no housekeeper. So, imagine my surprise when months later I learned of Anna the owner and founder of Baby Poppins.
Baby Poppins provides a service which was exactly what I was looking for. A mother’s help, a right hand (wo)man, someone who can step in and pick up the slack. Not specifically a cleaner, nor nanny, nor chef but someone who can lend a hand, free up your time and take the pressure off.
By meeting each families individual requirements Baby Poppins can do things like pop in your laundry for you, tackle your ironing and/or do a general tidy. With a minimum of a 2hr booking you can have meals prepared, children minded, or the school run completed and perhaps even a good old Poppins trip to the park (bring your own kite).
Baby Poppins work with all types of families from single dads to full time working parents of 2.5 children 😊 General running about like picking up or dropping off parcels or dry cleaning are quite regular requests as well as on line shopping tasks. Whether your needs are catered to a specific job and just warrant a one off booking or you want a more established relationship to develop Anna is happy to help.
Around Christmas parents can become fraught with endless lists of jobs and Baby Poppins can offer quite a bespoke service. Furnished with a list of requirements Anna can multitask and time manage to get things that are important to you achieved. Perhaps put the baby down for a nap, then do some online shopping, have a quick general tidy round and prepare dinner.
Along with the efficiency of Baby Poppins, building relationships is just as important. A true sense of trust and reliability are important for they allow for more personal undertakings. Organising wardrobes, decluttering and sorting playrooms are all services Anna and her staff undertake especially this time of year. Not necessarily the jobs the parents don’t want to do but just that they would find helpful if someone else could do for them.
Baby Popppins strive to meet the needs of any family who ask and have been know to wrap a present or two along the line. In fact, they have launched their own present wrapping service this year which is proving popular. Other Christmas duties have also included taking down Christmas decorations for families who are returning to work or returning from abroad.
Fitting in with a family and establishing a real connection underpins what Baby Poppins do and when you receive photos from the families abroad, thank you cards for meals you have prepared and even the odd phone call to ask you where something might be you know you’ve achieved a very special relationship indeed.
